Villa Romana del Casal

Beautiful morning with distant views of snowcapped Mount Etna. We visited The Villa del Romana famous for its extraordinary mosaics. The extensive Mosaic decorations of this luxurious hunting lodge of an important Roman official are the best preserved in the world. Constructed over a period of 50 years from the late 3rd century to the early 4th century AD. Quite difficult to capture the beauty of the mosaics with photos but have added a few.The most famous are the female athletes known as the Bikini Girls!
