Pendennis Castle

Friday 14th a very different day today. My turn to drive first returning to Devoran for a coffee by the Estuary. In the past the Port of Devoran was a major port shipping  huge amounts of mineral ore brought from the mines in Cornwall. (see photo for more details).
After coffee we drove to Falmouth to visit Pendennis Castle one of Henry V111’s finest coastal fortresses. We spent an enjoyable few hours taking in the lovely views of sailing boats and looking across to St Anthony Head lighthouse, had lunch in cafe (another pasty!) Very few visitors. Good weather all day. Rain this evening.
