Tuesday 20th April Rame Head

By on

Another beautiful day. We set off along the coast again taking minor roads to avoid traffic first stopping at Seaton (not the Devonshire Seaton)!A very quiet unspoilt area with a lovely beach and a sea wall which was an easy walk along.

We continued on taking in the wonderful views along the coast next stopping at Portwrinkle (Lovely name) a tiny cove with small harbour and another lovely beach.

As yet no crowds and traffic free. Back on coast road to Downderry and walked down to shingle beach beforeĀ  stopping at Cawsand in the free carpark. We walked though the interresting narrow streets lined with pretty painted cottages before entering the square with a pub and a fish and chip shop. Sheltered from the wind the outside seating for the pub was attractive but opted for fish and chips and sitting on a seat overlooking the beautiful Cawsand Bay.

Back on the road we made our way along quiet narrow roads passing on our approach to Rame Head a very isolated CL with a couple of motorhomes parked up. They had wonderful views of the coast but very exposed to weather. 50p for the parking at the Coastguard Station then we walked up the coastal path to the old Chapel on Rame Head with spectacular coastal views.

After leaving Rame we made our back via the coastal route to Campsite.
