Now at mountainside campsite on a terrace overlooking Signal strength not been good enough to send photos so now catching up! We left Athens in rain first of our holiday and took the scenic non toll road to our next overnight stop at a Vineyard. Those who took the toll road got stuck in traffic and paid 30euro in tolls! We had to use our own facilities at the vineyard but it was a nice change from a campsite and Set in the countryside it was a lovely place. We had an introduction to the area a tour of the vineyard where we learnt about their history and how they produced their wine. Then followed the wine tastings with cheese and nibbles. In the evening we had a sumptuous buffet dinner with plenty of wine included. A great evening. This morning we took the mountain route to visit a mountain monastery on route to Delhi. The little road although bumpy at times passed by little farms and orchards. The road sides were thick with wild flowers and  set against a backdrop of snow covered mountain tops. We reached the Monastery and we were so pleased we had made the detour as it was very special..

The Hosios Loukas Monastery built between the 10 and 12th century built on the Western slopes of Mt Helicon and is one of the most important and best preserved monuments of Byzantine culture.
