Dunkery Beacon Exmoor

Monday 60 mile drive around Exmoor in Ka. Sun/cloud and misty on high ground. Walked up to Dunkery Beacon glimpses of spectacular views through mist, must go again on a clear day and the heather is out. On our tour around we visited a 12th century church saw herds of red deer,highland cattle, Exmoor ponies, purple foxgloves, Robbers Bridge and Oare church where reputably Lorna Doone was shot whilst at the alter marrying John Ridd, Lorna Doone Hotel where I worked many years ago running trekking stables and finally on to the coastal scenic A39 now swathed in sunshine with views across the coast and beyond.
