POA Briarfields Rally 25th – 29th March

By on

Following on from Whitemead we made the short journey to Briarfields Campsite nr Cheltenham for another POA Rally.  Everyone was welcomed to the rally including our four new members by Peter and Jan our rallly organisers. The Sunny warm weather continued so a lot of sitting outside the vans and socialising was in place! On Saturday a group of us set off on a 3 mile (which turned out to be 5 miles) walk on footpaths across fields nr the site. As it was unknown to us all it was a bit of adventure encountering some very high stiles and some very lively young bullocks who decided to follow us. We did however “Stumble” across a very nice pub where we had a welcome break .Others took advantage of the excellent bus service from outside the site to visit Cheltenham and Gloucester both interesting cities.  On Mothering Sunday Pete & Jan with a little help from us organised a delicious Ploughmans Lunch followed by a fun Quiz. On Monday We went to Gloucester (not in a shower of rain!) and explored the Historic Dockland area before making our way through the shops to view the magnificent Cathedral. Our final evening saw 22 ralliers enjoying an evening out together at the local Harvester Pub. Next day it was raining the first we’d had since leaving home as we set off back  to Devon.
