Elan Valley

By on

Another lovely day great weather and stunning scenery. Rhayader to Penyygarreg Reservoir crossing over to follow the scenic road overlooking Craig Goch Reservoir to Pont ar Elan a very popular place. We found a handy bench overlooking the steep hairpinĀ  road and valley to have our picnic lunch. We spent a very entertaining couple of hours watching the many motorcyclists cyclists and cars climbing up the road. We thenĀ  drove along another narrow tortuous but scenic road to Cwmystwyth stopping off on the way for a 3 mile walk and a look at a deserted lead mine. Then back to Rhayader via yet another scenic road before heading back to campsite.
