Thursday 14 June WI organised visit to Byway Farm

Nr Bickleigh Castle lies Byway Farm owned by the Greenslade Family since 1916 and once a thriving dairy,beef and sheep farm. In 1994 as a result of TB outbreaks and changing farming practices  it led the present owner John Greenslade to utilise the land into woodland and a nature reserve with wildflower meadows. A small group of WI ladies enjoyed a very informative talk by Farmer John and I think most of us are now  well versed on Ash Dieback, different species  of woodland trees and how to grow wild flowers.
