Today dawned bright and sunny so left early for the days drive. We first tackled the famous Hardknott Pass with memories of us driving the hill in our MGA 53 years ago on our honeymoon! In those days there was little traffic today quite busy which made the climb even more of a challenge with some extremely tight steep hairpins. Stopped at the top for coffee before carrying on to the next hill

the Wrynose Pass another demanding Hill for the TC. Lunch in Ambleside followed by a steep climb up “The Struggle ” which took us up to the Kikstone Pass Inn and down the Pass. We then turned around and retraced our route back over the three passes. To end a brilliant day with stunning scenery and challenging hills we drove to beautiful Wastwater a lake overlooked by mountains the highest being Scafell Pike.
