Gythio camping Meltemi

By on

The sun was shining when we left Olympia this morning after a few cloudy days. We were leaving for Gythio in Southern Peloponnese. It was only 128 miles but took 5 hours as we took the non motorway route over mountains and along the coast. The scenery was spectacular with wild flowers lining our route quiet unspoilt mountain villages and dramatic coastal cliffs dropping down to an azure blue sea. Difficult to stop to take photos as narrow roads but I managed to get a few. We are now on a beachside campsite it’s very hot so glad to be parked under shaded pitches. Tonight we had a Street Party put on by our Tour Leaders and a fellow camper who cooked for us all a lovely paella together with ouzo wine and honey cake we had a fun evening. We are here for 4 days so chance to relax no driving!
