P.O.A Wareham Rally

Thursday 12 July. We joined the rally on Thursday where we were warmly welcomed by the organisers John and Kath. 19 vans were booked onto the Wareham Rugby Club Ground an excellent venue with good clubhouse and an easy walk into the delightful interesting town of Wareham. In the evening we met up with the rest of the ralliers for a get together in the clubhouse where it was good to see a number of new members attending.

Friday we cycled into Wareham Quay and spent some time watching all the various boats and then we decided to take a ride on the Orca a traditional wooden boat. And very interesting it was with a very colouful narratione by the helmsman about the history of Wareham.

Saturday Another very hot day. After an excellent group meal on Friday evening we decided a  cycle ride would be a good idea .We headed off to the quay to cross over the bridge but soon realised that there was a lot going on! A local market and a Town Crier Competition so stopped to take a few photos.

Carried on with our cycle ride towards Arne and Middlesbere Common Corfe Castle and back to Wareham a total of 14 miles. Some lovely scenery but hard going at times as partly off route.

The day ended with a wine and cheese party organised by Kath and John a lovely end to an excellent rally
